What is the minimum degree required for this job?: bachelor's degree

What is your educational background? (schools, degrees, certificates, etc.): Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Claremont McKenna College.

What are the three main roles/responsibilities that make up your current work?: Through my propfessional staff cultivate, recruit, train and motivate volunteers to grow and expand Scouting's reach in the community

What is the salary range and benefits for a position like yours?:  District Executives start at $37,400 with full benefits, including a retirement package.

What's something you're really passionate about?: Helping boys become fully engaged adults. Helping adults connect to their kids.

What is your best piece of advice for those considering a career in youth work?: Recruiting & training volunteers will help you reach more kids. Expect long hours and enjoy being amazed at what your volunteers will do.

What is your favorite story about your experiences working with youth?: What comes to mind is the older teen who successfully led a group of eighty scouts away from a major forest fire.
